Vulkanexpress

A varied and eventful trip through one of the most scenic valleys of the River Rhine awaits you here. Whether you are a tourist, a nature-lover or a railway freak, you will have a fantastic trip through the natural landscape. The railway carriages are pulled by steam and diesel locomotives at a speed of 20 km/h from the town of Brohl on the Rhine to the town of Engeln in the Eifel. The 18 km track is a fascinating experience especially when the full passenger train is being pulled by a steam locomotive, puffing with steam, through a 90 meter long tunnel.

Kuckucksbähnel

On the 23rd January 1909, the railway line between Lambrecht (Pfalz) and Elmstein (13km) was opened. In 1977 the connection was shut down, but during the 1980's people tried to revitalise the Museum Project. On the 2nd June 1984 the first new Kuckucksbähnel got on its way to Elmstein and soon became very popular.
