Frankfurt & Steigenberger Hotel Frankfurter Hof

Frankfurt on the river Main is one of Germany's more cosy Gay & Lesbian centres. With its unique skyline it provides plenty of scope for all admirers of modern avant-garde architecture (Sir Norman Foster is responsible for the centrally located Commerzbank building). The cities' Museum Embankment is equally attractive to locals and visitors alike with gems such as the Staedel Art Gallery, the German Architecture Museum and the Jewish Museum. Romantic may opt for Frankfurt's Botanic Garden, the Palmengarten, while the more poetic head for the Goethe House to pay homage to Germany's greatest writer.

Gays and Lesbians meet at the "Bermuda Triangle" - around the Konstabler Wache square but as dancing is a favourite pastime for many Frankfurters, why not join in at the Studio Café Bar at the Hauptwache (their Gay and Lesbian tea dances take place on the roof gardens) or the Tanzschule Bäppler where Frankfurts legendary travestie icon Baebbi la Belle gives her all to an appreciative audience. Sporty types may wish to join the Frankfurter Gay Volleyball Club.

But there is also something for the less sporty amongst us (or have you joined the Volleyball Club already?) and Frankfurt is proud of its excellent ballet troupe under the direction of the world renown William Forsythe and its internationally famous jazz clubs.

The Frankfurt Card, the Super-Saver Card, enables you to enjoy your stay in the Main metropolis with a minimum of hassle, providing travel on the city's well developed public transportation network as well as discounts to a number of Frankfurt's most popular cultural sights and attractions. The card is available as a 1- or 2-day ticket (€7,80 and €11,50) and is available at the tourist infomation centres at the main railway station, the city's town hall (Römer) and the airport.
