Germany for the Jewish Traveler

Learn about Germany's Jewish history, including the 20-century saga of Germany and the Jewish people, and about Germany's burgeoning 21st century Jewish community - the third largest and fastest growing in Western Europe.

Click on any of the links below to learn more about Germany's Jewish history:

  • Holocaust Memorial Berlin - Check out the official Holocaust memorial, designed by German architect Peter Eisenman and entrenched in German Jewish history.

  • Jewish Museum Berlin - Trace Germany's Jewish history from the Roman Age to the present day at the Jewish Museum in Berlin. This silvery, steel-clad building represents the most significant example of contemporary architecture in Berlin.

  • Stolpersteine - Stumble Stones in Dachau - Another interesting piece of German Jewish history. Come see the six brass "stumble stones" that the city of Dachau laid in front of several former Jewish homes to commemorate their occupants.
