Sindelfingen with its romantic old quarter is situated close to the communications hub of Stuttgart and within striking distance of the Black Forest. Many people from different countries have made their home here. Its international feel, economic strength and the wealth of contacts from its seven European twin towns have turned Sindelfingen into a vibrant, innovative town.

A town history trail with 35 information boards takes visitors on a tour of the historical old quarter passing St Martin's Church, one of the oldest Romanesque churches in W�rttemberg and carefully restored half-timbered buildings such as the Old Town Hall and the former salt store. The Friendship Fountain on the market square was constructed in honour of Sindelfingen's twin towns

The municipal museum in the heart of the old quarter brings the town's history to life. The museum of weaving looks back on Sindelfingen's past as a hand-weaving centre. The museum of Donauschwaben ("Danube Germans") is particularly interesting as visitors can learn about German settlers in the Danube region and do some practical genealogical research.
