In the 19th century Sebastian Kneipp revolutionised natural medicine. After he cured himself of serious tuberculosis, a disease which at that time was still considered to be incurable, with dips in the cold river Danube, he began to occupy himself seriously with the health-promoting power of water and the medicinal effect of selected plants. The result of his many years of study and practical applications of his therapy is a visionary way of life which is applicable even today. His therapy is used to treat cardiovascular diseases, angiopathy, musculo-skeletal disorders, diseases of the digestive system, diseases of the nervous system, psychosomatic complaints, general infirmity and is also used for convalescence.
