After an outbreak of the "Black Death", in 1632, killed 20% of the population, the villagers of Oberammergau vowed an oath to perform the Passion Play every 10 years.

Germany's new Low Emission Zones

In January 2008, Berlin, Hanover, Cologne and Dortmund have all successfully launched their new inner city low emission zones. Between March and October a further eight towns and cities, including Stuttgart and Munich will be asking motorists to keep it clean.
