  • Just about a 100 km away from the sea, Hamburg's Elbhafen (Port) is accessible even for the largest among the container giants. One of the best way of seeing this impressive sight is to join one of many Harbour or Elbe cruises.
  • St Pauli & Reeperbahn are legendary for their famous red light district.
  • The historical Dockland (Speicherstadt) in Hamburg's harbour has the world's oldest warehouse complex, and a cruise through its canals is a must for every visitor.
  • More or less everything which is not bolted or nailed down has been bought or sold since 1703 at Hamburg's best-known Fish Market.
  • The Alster is a large lake in the centre of Hamburg it is best explored on on one of the white Alster cruise steamships.

  • Lüneburg and the Lüneburg Heath - Beautiful heath countryside with medieval old towns and redbrick architecture.

Sights:
  • The Marienplatz (Virgin Mary Square) and Town Hall with its Glockenspiel has been the centre of Munich ever since the city's beginning.
  • The world-famous Hofbräuhaus was founded in 1589 and has since been one of Munich's most popular tourist attractions. Here, you find a little Oktoberfest throughout the whole year.
  • Munich´s famous 900-acre park, the Englischer Garten, has shaded paths, brooks, ponds and swans and is best known for its four beer gardens.
  • Schloss Nymphenburg is one of Munich's top tourist attractions, former summer residence of the Bavarian kings and birthplace of King Ludwig II.
  • The Residenz Palace is located in the heart of Munich it is an unforgettable town palace with magnificent Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo interiors.
  • Opposite the BMW headquarters is the "tent-style" Olympic Parc, site of the 1972 Olympics. This attractive landscaped park contains numerous sport facilities, lakes, cycle paths, concert venues, restaurants and a football stadium. 
  • Pinakothek der Moderne is Munich's newest museum, a truly spectacular one and one of the world's biggest museums devoted to the art of the 20th and 21st centuries.
  • In 2005 (28.4 to 09.10.2005) , Munich will be hosting BUGA, Germany's Federal Garden Show and showpiece for all lovers of flora and fauna, at Messestadt Riem, the city's former airport.
