Schwalm-Nette Nature Reserve

Moorland
A schnapps distillery, traditional timber-framed houses and the historical village forge bring the past back to life at Dorenburg's open-air museum. Visitors can also take a journey back in time at the flax museum in Wegberg or at the castle festival in Wachtendonk. However, the Schwalm-Nette nature reserve on the German-Dutch border also has plenty to offer sports enthusiasts: its numerous small streams, rivers and lakes are ideal for canoeing, sailing, water-skiing, swimming, angling and rowing. Marked cycle trails lead through lush meadows, wide expanses of forest and unspoilt wetlands.
