1.FC nuernberg running for joy
The 1.FC Nuernberg is a club with a long tradition, but has never quite repeated its successful time like in the 20’s, when in won 5 of its altogether 9 league titles (outnumbered only by FC Bayern Munich).

Having gained a reputation as yo-yo team for its several relegations and promotions between 1.Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga in the 90’s and 2000, it has since re-established its performance and is even due to play in the UEFA cup next season.

Nuremberg - City Highlights

Nuremberg castle and old town centre
Nuremberg (pop. 490.000) combines the excitement of a modern city with the old-world charm of a lovely medieval city centre. Nuremberg's beautiful castle, gothic churches, romantic half-timbered buildings and sleepy cobblestoned squares create an unforgettable atmosphere & panorama. But Nuremberg is more than just a mediaeval gem, it is a lively city with excellent shops and delicious local specialities such as Lebkuchen (gingerbread) and Rostbratwürste (small grilled sausages).
