Kiel Week is a famous sailing event that, over the years, has grown into northern Europe's biggest summer festival. While they are in Kiel, visitors can also admire the staggering variety of fish on display at the famous fish market.

For many people, Hanse Sail, Rostock's huge maritime event, is a dream come true: every August, 30,000 people take a trip on one of the finest tall ships in the world. The town's wonderful brick façades and the adjacent seaside resort of Warnemünde make Rostock an attractive destination at any time of year.
