Once a year, Erlangen's baroque Margravial Theatre is transformed into a movie palace. The festival programme offers a wide range of classic (and sometimes contemporary) silent film productions, almost all of which are screened to the accompaniment of an ensemble or orchestra. As well as the few remaining original scores, audiences are treated to high-calibre new compositions by contemporary artists.
