Founded in 1710, Meissen porcelain factory was the first factory of its kind in Europe. With its demonstration workshop and museum, it attracts large numbers of visitors and is also the place to buy the "white gold" featuring the blue crossed-swords mark. The porcelain factory, which put Meissen on the map, is the town's most famous attraction. It also has a Meissen shop. Situated in Triebischtal, the factory's Porcelain Museum, demonstration workshops and exhibition hall give visitors a chance to experience 300 years of porcelain manufacturing with a number of spectacular exhibits and guided tours in several languages.
