Food & drink

The idyllic 'Dutch town' has many restaurants, cafés and bistros to explore. Offering a range from great gastronomy to regional specialities and individual creations, Friedrichstadt can cater for everyone. The summer is a great time to sit outside in the sun by the romantic canals and admire at the roses that grow all over town. It's easy to see why Friedrichstadt is known as 'rose town' in the summer months.

Hotel - Restaurant - Café, the 'Holländische Stube'
The Holländische Stube restaurant can be found in one of the town's oldest and prettiest merchant houses. This cosy, authentic building dates from 1620, and the restaurant mainly serves regional dishes.

Hotel Aquarium
The Aquarium hotel is in the very heart of Friedrichstadt, in an idyllic canal-side location. The hotel serves fine food in informal surroundings, either indoors or outside on the terrace.

Café Hinrichs
The view from Café Hinrichs takes in Friedrichstadt's historic market square. When it's time for afternoon tea, let tasty home-made cakes and pastries tempt you in. Here, tea is served in the traditional manner: with candy sugar and cream.
