Permanent exhibitions

History comes alive at the German Emigration Centre. This is the biggest interactive museum of its kind, showing how 7.2 million people, including 3.7 million Germans, emigrated from Bremerhaven between 1830 and 1974. An impressive exhibition allows visitors to relive the journey taken by the emigrants, from the waiting hall to the ship and onwards to Ellis Island and New York.
This aquarium provides a fascinating insight into sealife and life at sea. Watch a film about life began in a kaleidoscope made of mirrors and then marvel at North Sea fish and crustaceans in a salt water aquarium. Short films provide information on animal habitats, and explain the science behind environmental themes, polar research topics and so much more.
Phänomenta is an interactive experience where you are actually invited to touch the exhibits. You will find explanations of natural and technological phenomena at a level which will engage the whole family. Fascinating scientific themes are investigated in special exhibitions.
