Museums

The local history museum was founded at the end of the 19th century. Today it is housed in the Königsbronn Klosterhof, a former abbey building. The museum's extensive collection brings to life the history of Reutlingen from the 13th to the 20th century. Works by the town's famous son, the 19th-century economist Friedrich List, can also be admired.
The Reutlingen natural history museum is housed on four floors of a restored half-timbered building. It offers insights into the region's natural characteristics through a range of exhibits illustrating the geography, the flora and fauna and the geological development of Reutlingen and the surrounding region. The museum's primary objective is to help visitors understand interrelationships in nature through an approach that combines the traditional and the modern.
Formerly a school of weaving and the public library, the Spendhaus is now home to the municipal art museum. Modern woodcarvings of the 20th and 21st century are the focal point of the museum's collection and exhibitions. On display are works by artists including Wilhelm Laage and H. A. P. Grieshaber, who both lived in Reutlingen.
