The Büsum Shrimp and Fish Festival takes place each August and is a huge event which attracts thousands of visitors. There is a programme of entertainment and music together with servings of traditional shrimp soup, shrimp peeling competitions, a fishing boat regatta, a horse show on the coastal mudflats and much, much more.Dithmarschen Cabbage Festival
Each September the whole of Dithmarschen celebrates the Cabbage Festival with a huge programme of events. It is six days of fun and entertainment, art and culture as well as lots of delicious food. The highlight of the festival - the classic car meet - takes place on the last day.
