Nature & greenery

With its lush green meadows and extensive forests, the Eifel hill country is ideal for those seeking relaxation. Along with the nearby Ardennes, the Eifel hills are the "lungs" of Europe. With blossom-laden forests and meadows in the spring, gorse and juniper in the summer, a blaze of colour in the autumn and a magical carpet of white in the winter, the region is well worth a visit at any time of year.
Walking enthusiasts can enjoy a number of attractive tours through the magnificent forests and enchanting countryside around the Nürburgring. The marked trails offer fabulous views of the surrounding scenery and individual sections of the racetrack. "Green Hell Country" is one of the themed trails along the Nürburgring on which visitors can learn some interesting facts about the construction of the Nürburgring circuit, the formation of the Upper Eifel's volcanic landscape and the fascinating flora and fauna around the legendary northern circuit.
This exciting route, which often resembles a roller coaster ride, runs parallel to the northern circuit. Explore more than 30 kilometres of countryside by bike along a combination of winding forest paths and hilly stretches with breathtaking views on all sides. Most mountain bikers will agree that the trail along the northern circuit is one of the most challenging around.
