Füssen

In one of Germany’s most attractive holiday regions at the foot of the Alps, Füssen is Bavaria’s highest town at an altitude of 800 to 1,200 metres. The late medieval town centre with its high castle and St. Mang’s monastery houses numerous works of art and the monuments to a history stretching back almost 2,000 years. The highlight of the comprehensive programme of culture and events is the musical ‘Ludwig II - Yearning for Paradise’ in the Musical Theatre Neuschwanstein. This is the world’s only musical to be held at the original scene and transports audience back to the dream world of the tragic ‘Fairy-tale King’.
