Bavarian Forest

Bavarian Forest – Natur Park Bavarian Forest, Lake Arbersee
The Bayerischer Wald is the largest range of wooded mountains in central Europe. Six thousand sq. km of peaks (60 of which are over 1000m high) and countless rivers and creeks stretch from the Danube to the Austrian and Czech borders to form a vast hook that lures hikers, campers and cross-country skiers throughout the year. The Bayerischer Wald is much more than just a verdant paradise; palaces, churches and castle ruins are tucked away in tiny villages throughout the region. The region is famous for its crafts, particularly glass-blowing.
