Dortmund Love Parade

The Love Parade is still the world's biggest music event. Once a year, the whole world looks on as thousands of techno fans get into the groove with steadily pounding beats.

It all started in 1989 with just 150 young people and one truck on Berlin's Ku'damm and developed into one of Europe's biggest street festivals with over one million ravers and techno fans.

The original idea was to promote a "housemusic demonstration" which evolved into a demonstration for tolerance, respect and understanding between nations but instead of speeches the message is expressed with music, a language that is understood by all.

The 2008 Love Parade will take place in Dortmund on Saturday the 19th of July.
