Richard-Wagner-Museum Haus Wahnfried

Richard-Wagner-Museum
Location: Bayreuth

House designed according to plans by Richard Wagner, where the composer lived from 1874 and where he completed the third act of Siegfried and all of Götterdämmerung, the last work of the Ring cycle.

His former living quarters are today a national museum dedicated to the famous composer’s life, works, and history of the Wagner Festival in Bayreuth.

The biggest Beethoven collection worldwide.

Authentic documents and instruments visualise Beethoven’s life and work.

Beethoven is generally acknowledged as one of the greatest composers of the European music tradition, his work crowned the classical period and also effectively initiated the romantic age of music. He is one of the few musicians who genuinely may be considered revolutionary.

Bach Museum

Bach Museum
Location: Leipzig
The Bach archiv Leipzig is widely recognized as the world’s pre-eminent centre of Bach scholarship.

Comprising a research institute, a library, an events department and a museum.  The Bach Archive today occupies the historic Bosehaus complex at St. Thomas Square.

The permanent exhibition in the Bach museum is devoted to the life and works of Johann Sebastian Bach in Leipzig.

Bach's 27 years as cantor at St Thomas's School and the city's director of music stamped a mark on Leipzig's musical life. It was here that he composed for example five cycles of cantatas, the Christmas Oratorio, the St John and St Matthew Passions, and the Art of the Fugue.

You can see sheet music, documents, works of art, musical instruments, furniture an much more in the exhibition
