Jewish Museum

Jewish Museum
Location: Berlin

The Jewish Museum housed in the impressive new museum building designed by Daniel Libeskind, opened its first major exhibition on September 9th 2001.

This permanent exhibition traces the high and low points of German-Jewish history, offering a journey through history and culture, from its earliest testimonies, through the Middle Ages and up to the present day.

Opening hours:
Mon 10 am to 10 pm
Tue-Sun 10 am to 8 pm
closed on December 24th, Rosch ha-Schana

Admission:
Adults: 5,- €; reduced rate: 2,50 €
children under the age of six: free of charge

Luther’s house – Lutherhaus

Luther’s house
Location: Wittenberg

The Roman Catholic Church was at the heart of Martin Luther's attack in 1517 when he wrote the "95 Theses", thus sparking off the German Reformation and a new era in the religious and political history of the Western world. 

Today the museum of reformation, where Luther lived, contains an excellent collection of his works, manuscripts and illustrations.

The building itself and its museum is officially listed as a UNESCO protected site.

Mon 10 am – 5 pm
