Hamburger Kunsthalle

The Kunsthalle is one of the most important art museums in Germany, and its collections span seven centuries of art history.

The Gallery of Contemporary Art was opened in 1997. The Kunsthalle hosts approx. 20 special exhibitions per year.

Mini Wonderland

Location: The Speicherstadt in Hamburg is not only the world’s oldest warehouse complex but it is also home to the world’s largest and longest permanent public model railway display.

Altogether one can admire a buzzing miniature world, completely digitally controlled, with 700 continuously running trains on more than 9kms of H0 size tracks.

Hamburg’s record breaking miniature world is further complimented by a model rail landscape of 165.000 trees, 150.000 figures, 4000 cars plus 2800 houses and bridges.

The exhibition contains sections of central to south Germany, Hamburg’s coastline, the US and Scandinavia. So far model enthusiast have invested a mere half a million hours, a further 300,000 hours of manpower and 6kms of track is planned in phases up to the year 2014.
