The Green Vault of Dresden is one of the few princely collections in the world to have been preserved in its original design over the centuries. It contains one of the most rare jewel collections in the world.

From the Green Vault comes one of Dresden's most widely known treasures - the Dresden Green Diamond.  It is the only large diamond with a naturally green colour that has ever been found. The Dresden Green is 41 carats in size and surrounded by white diamonds.

Selected works from the emerald, ruby, sapphire and other garnitures are also included in the exhibition.

The Dresden Zwinger was originally built as an orangery but soon afterwards became the scene of courtly festivities.

Today the Zwinger is home to the famous “Old Masters” art gallery and to the largest porcelain collection in the world. 

The Old Masters Picture Gallery is founded on its outstanding collection of high-ranking Italian, German, Flemish, Dutch and French masterpieces.
