German Museums
Classical antiquities, computers and chocolate are just three of the themes covered in Germany's great wealth of museums and galleries. For the former, head for the capital, Berlin, which even has a 'Museum Island' containing the world class Pergamon museum brim full of treasures such as the Palace of King Nebuchadnezzar. Computer buffs should head to Paderborn; chocolate friends to Cologne. Elsewhere there are museums dedicated to ships (Bremerhaven), toys (Nuremberg), zeppelins (Friedrichshafen), bread (Ulm) and the composers Bach, Beethoven and Wagner (Leipzig, Bonn and Bayreuth).
