Speyer Christmas Market

During the festive season the air outside the Old Mint in Maximilianstrasse is full of delicious aromas - glühwein, roasted almonds, Alsace Flammkuchen ("pizza" with onions, bacon and cream) and much more. A spectacular experience is when the Old Gate, one of the tallest town gates in Germany, is lit up by a dramatic curtain of fire as the Christmas trumpets sound.
